Product Description
Product Overview

Alumina Tubular Ceramic Membrane is manufactured from high-purity alumina through high-temperature sintering to form a robust asymmetric multi-layer structure consisting of a porous support layer, transition layer, and separation layer. Designed for crossflow filtration, it provides stable solid-liquid separation, concentration, clarification, and purification under demanding operating conditions.

Compared with conventional polymer membranes, alumina ceramic membranes offer superior mechanical strength, excellent chemical resistance, high-temperature stability, and a significantly longer service life. They are widely used in pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, food and beverage processing, chemical production, water treatment, and industrial wastewater recycling.

Features
  • High filtration accuracy with uniform pore size distribution
  • Excellent permeability for high processing efficiency
  • Outstanding resistance to acids, alkalis, and organic solvents
  • High mechanical strength and pressure resistance
  • Excellent thermal stability up to 300°C
  • Anti-fouling surface for longer cleaning intervals
  • Compatible with high-pressure backwashing and chemical cleaning (CIP)
  • Long service life of 5–10 years under proper operating conditions
  • Available in multiple pore sizes, channel configurations, and dimensions
  • Suitable for continuous crossflow filtration systems
Working Principle

The membrane operates using inside-out crossflow filtration.

Feed liquid flows through the inner channels of the ceramic membrane at high velocity. Small molecules and solvent pass through the membrane layer as permeate, while suspended solids, bacteria, proteins, colloids, and other larger particles are retained inside the channels and continuously concentrated.

The crossflow design minimizes membrane fouling and maintains stable filtration performance during long-term operation.

Advantages
High Separation Efficiency

The precisely controlled pore structure enables efficient separation of suspended solids, bacteria, colloids, proteins, emulsified oil, and other contaminants while maintaining high permeate flux.

Superior Chemical Resistance

The inorganic ceramic structure maintains stable performance in strong acidic, alkaline, oxidizing, and solvent environments where polymer membranes often fail.

High Mechanical Strength

The rigid ceramic body withstands high operating pressure, backwashing, and abrasive feed streams, making it suitable for continuous industrial applications.

Long Operating Life

The membrane can be regenerated repeatedly through chemical cleaning or high-pressure backwashing, reducing replacement frequency and lowering total operating costs.

Stable Performance

Unlike organic membranes, alumina ceramic membranes resist swelling, aging, and thermal deformation, ensuring reliable filtration performance over extended service periods.
