Description:

Pressureless sintered silicon carbide (SiC) thermocouple protection tubes are high-performance ceramic tubes fabricated from high-purity SiC using a pressureless sintering process. Their key advantages include high strength, exceptional high-temperature resistance, superior corrosion resistance, and excellent thermal shock resistance, making them ideal for temperature measurement in extreme industrial environments. They provide long-term, stable protection for thermocouples against physical and chemical degradation.

  1. Metallurgy
    • Temperature measurement in molten steel, iron, copper, and aluminum, replacing traditional metal tubes to reduce replacement costs.
  2. Chemical and Energy Industries
    • High-temperature gas turbines, waste incinerators, and sulfur incinerators operating in corrosive gas environments.
  3. Ceramics and Glass Manufacturing
    • Internal temperature monitoring in glass furnaces and ceramic kilns to ensure process stability.

    • Erosion resistance: Suitable for environments containing oxygen, sulfur, tar, and other corrosive media, such as high-temperature combustion gases and fuel oils.
  3. Thermal Shock and Wear Resistance
    • Coefficient of thermal expansion: 4.85 × 10⁻⁶/°C, closely matching metal thermocouples to minimize cracking risks caused by thermal expansion mismatches.
    • Wear resistance: Vickers hardness of 2350 kg/mm2, enabling resistance to high-velocity fluid or particle erosion for extended service life.
  4. Thermal Conductivity
    • Thermal conductivity: 160 W/(m·K), ensuring rapid heat transfer to the thermocouple for short response times and high measurement accuracy.
