Installation Guide for MoSi2 Heating Elements

Vertical Installation Method

MoSi2 heating elements are brittle at room temperature but become ductile at high operating temperatures. The recommended installation method for U-shaped elements is vertical suspension from the furnace top using specialized support clamps. This approach prevents mechanical stress from concentrating on the heating zone of the element, significantly reducing the risk of fracture and extending service life.

Key Installation Requirements:

• Support Clamp Selection: Specific support clamps are designed for different element sizes (e.g., 6/12 and 9/18 types)

• Precise Alignment: Clamps must be carefully installed to ensure perfect vertical positioning

• Proper Insertion: The tapered lower end must fully extend into the furnace chamber to prevent localized overheating

• Weight Distribution: Support clamps must bear the entire element weight while maintaining secure positioning
